The education loan system in Malaysia is proving difficult for graduates.

Graduates have to start paying for their loans pretty much as soon as they leave university and many can't afford to pay and find themselves in debt even before they are able to earn a salary.

One such person is Mandeep Singh. And he is taking Malaysia's Higher National Education Fund to court for defamation and wrongful arrest after being prevented from leaving the country by immigration officers at the Kuala Lumpur...

MCA to give out interest-free student loans

MCA has announced that they would be giving interest-free student loans amounting up to RM30 million for students from needy families.

Party president Dr Chua Soi Lek said that while the loan are for students who have completed their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, Sijil Tinggi Penilaian Malaysia, pre-university courses and the United Examination Certificate, the loans are essentially for all races.

PAS: Deepak's loans total RM215mil

PAS information Chief, Mahfuz Omar handed a memorandum demanding answers and transparency from Bank Rakyat over Deepak's loans at the bank's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

Mahfuz claimed that Deepak Jaikishan's loan with Bank Rakyat is not limited to a purported RM32 million loan that recently became a subject of controversy, but he instead has two more loans totalling RM215 million.
