South Africa Reserve Bank hikes interest rates by 50bps

South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Governor Lesetja Kganyago on Thursday announced a 50 basis-point increase in the repo rate to 6.75%, in line with the consensus. This is positive news for savers, but those with debt, home and car loans will have to pay more.
